Project Manager Engineering Maritime & Offshore

The business unit Maritime & Offshore has offices in Belgium, The Netherlands and Slovakia. We are currently looking for a Project Manager Engineering for our own Design and Engineering Offices in Belgium & The Netherlands. Typical project can be linked to a basic engineering and or detailed engineering scope for newbuild or refit projects. The involved vessel type can go from a 35m workboat to a 120m superyacht.

Tasks & responsibilities

You are in charge of and have the final responsibility for one or more engineering projects in our Design & Engineering Offices. Your purpose is to manage, coordinate, follow-up and deliver the entrusted projects in close cooperation with our clients.

Project Planning:

  • Generate and keep up-to-date of the overall project planning.
  • Define the project phases and milestones.
  • Work out a detailed planning per phase.
  • Take corrective actions in case of planning deviations.
  • Manage the phase-boundaries and deliveries.


  • Follow-up and analyse the hours worked in the project.
  • Watch over the continuity of the project.
  • Optimize the billable hours.
  • Prepare the invoicing.

Project execution:

  • Start-up of the project with an internal kick-off.
  • Manage the deliverables.
  • Ensure regular project meetings with the client as internal with all involved project members.
  • Overlook the correct implementation of the project scope.
  • Make clear arrangements in the division of tasks between the staff-members.
  • Manage and coach staff-members during the project.
  • Discuss organizational and substantive information and questions with the client.
  • Organise regular consultation of the project staff for feedback.


  • Guard the global quality in form and content of the engineering assignments, in accordance with the Lead Engineer.

MULTI ambassadorship:

  • Promote the growth of the engineering activities through commercial alertness. Guard and pass on of the intrinsic values of MULTI.


Technical knowledge & soft skills

  • You have a master degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or equal;
  • You have minimally five years of relevant working experience, preferably in a position as project manager in the maritime or offshore industry or you have the potential to take the step towards PM;
  • You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
  • You are flexible to attend regularly in our offices in Belgium (Temse) and The Netherlands (Vlissingen and Zwijndrecht);
  • You are a born team leader and organizer and like to take initiative;
  • Furthermore you are someone who gets energy of a driven atmosphere where colleagues support each other and where your own contribution is appreciated.
