You will convert electrical drawings, mark-ups, redlines, and engineering input into accurate as-built and detail drawings for naval vessel maintenance and modification projects. Your work helps make sure the final drawing package reflects the actual onboard situation, with clear traceability between the original design, field input, and final documentation.

This role is available both as a permanent employment position and as a freelance assignment.

Where You’ll Work:

You will work from the Den Helder engineering office on a naval vessel project.

What You’ll Be Working On:

Naval vessels include many electrical systems and interfaces that must be documented with care. In this role, you will focus on electrical installations, onboard modifications, system interfaces, and as-built documentation.

You will work from existing drawings, mark-ups, field input, and approved design changes, translating them into clear and usable detail drawings. Your work supports engineering, maintenance, production, and final project handover.

What You’ll Do:

  • Convert electrical mark-ups, redlines, and engineering input into accurate as-built and detail drawings.
  • Update electrical drawings and documentation in line with project standards, vessel configuration, and approved design changes.
  • Prepare detail drawings for electrical installations, interfaces, and onboard modifications.
  • Work with EPLAN, MicroStation, or comparable CAD tools, with internal training available where needed.
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers, designers, and project stakeholders to clarify technical input.
  • Resolve drawing issues and help keep the electrical documentation consistent.
  • Check drawing quality, version control, consistency, and traceability before release or handover.
  • Support multidisciplinary naval projects by keeping electrical documentation complete, structured, and up to date.

Profile

What You Bring:

  • A background in electrical engineering, electrical design, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Around 5 years of relevant experience, although flexibility is possible for candidates with the right technical foundation.
  • Experience with electrical drawings, as-built documentation, or detail engineering.
  • Working knowledge of EPLAN, MicroStation, or other electrical CAD/design tools, or the ability and motivation to learn quickly.
  • A structured way of working, with attention to detail, version control, and drawing quality.
  • The ability to understand technical mark-ups and translate them into clear engineering documentation.
  • Experience with naval, maritime, or shipbuilding projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of onboard electrical installations, automation, drive systems, or vessel systems is useful.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Good communication skills in English.

Job | Senior Naval Architect | Rotterdam Area

Role: Senior / Lead Naval Architect Workplace: Rotterdam Start: August 2026 Duration: Temporary to permanent position Contract: Full-time employment Focus: Offshore vessel design, naval architecture, analysis, class requirements, and yard support As a Senior Naval Architect, you will work on offshore vessel projects where technical detail and practical execution go hand in hand. You will be involved from concept design through to basic and detailed design, and you may also support the project during yard or site activities. Your job is to deliver naval architecture work that is technically correct, safe, cost-aware, and aligned with the project planning. On some projects, you will be part of a wider team. On others, you may lead a small team of Naval Architects and Designers. Where You’ll Work: You will join an international offshore engineering company. The team works on challenging offshore vessel projects and collaborates closely with other engineering disciplines, clients, certifying authorities, subcontractors, and shipyards. This is not a role where your work stays only on paper. Your designs and analyses need to support real project decisions, practical vessel solutions, and the work being done at the site or in the yard. What You’ll Be Working On: You will work on the design and analysis of offshore vessels. That includes hydrostatic, hydrodynamic and structural analyses, as well as finite element and fatigue analysis where required. You will help turn project requirements, class rules and client expectations into safe and cost-efficient vessel designs. You will also answer technical questions from site, clients, certifying authorities and subcontractors, so projects can keep moving with clear engineering input. What You’ll Do: Deliver naval architecture work in line with project specifications, budget and planning. Work on concept design, basic design, detailed design and yard support for offshore vessels. Carry out and review hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, structural, finite element and fatigue analyses. Lead or coordinate Naval Architects and Designers when required. Organise the scope, priorities and deliverables within your part of the project. Keep the Lead Engineer or Project Engineer informed about progress, setbacks and concerns. Spot technical risks or unusual issues and raise them early. Reply to questions from site, clients, certifying authorities and subcontractors. Work with other disciplines to include class and client requirements in the design. Support activities abroad or at a shipyard when the project needs it.

Job | Marine Operations Engineer | Denmark

Role: Marine Operations Engineer Workplace: Rødbyhavn, Denmark Start: August / September 2026, still to be decided Duration: Long-term project Contract: Employment contract or freelance assignment Focus: Immersion engineering, ballast planning, float-up calculations, stability, mooring, transport, and offshore installation As Immersion Engineer, you will help prepare and execute the float-up, transport and offshore immersion of large concrete tunnel elements. This is a technically critical role where engineering calculations, operational judgement and clear communication all come together during real marine operations. This position is available both as a permanent employment role and as a freelance assignment. Where You’ll Work: You will work in Rødbyhavn, Denmark, on a major international marine infrastructure project. The project environment is practical, technical, and collaborative, with short decision lines and a team-oriented way of working. The role can be based full-time in Denmark or arranged in a 4-2 rotation. What You’ll Be Working On: You will be part of the team responsible for floating up and/or hoisting concrete tunnel elements, equipping them in port, transporting them offshore and supporting their installation at sea. During the preparation phase, your focus will be on ballast plans, float-up calculations, weight analysis, stability, mooring, harbour transfers and technical documentation. During the execution phase, you will support offshore immersion operations from the command unit, advising the operational team and helping ensure the work stays within the agreed boundary conditions. What You’ll Do: Prepare ballast plans and float-up calculations for large concrete tunnel elements. Work on weight analysis, ballast concrete and water calculations, floating stability and longitudinal section forces. Support harbour and basin transfer operations, including winch operations with or without vessel assistance. Contribute to mooring, transport and offshore immersion engineering. Coordinate technical input between work preparation, design and operational teams. Support interface management with other project departments. Help ensure design conclusions are correctly translated into method statements, drawings and operation manuals. Liaise with the Marine Warranty Surveyor and contribute to work procedures and Go/No Go procedures. Monitor float-up, ballasting, transport and installation operations against boundary conditions. Advise the Immersion Master and operational team during offshore execution. Support contingency handling if unexpected situations occur. Review execution data after immersion and contribute to lessons learned for following operations. What You Bring: A background as a civil engineer with hydrodynamics expertise, naval architect, or maritime engineer. At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience. Experience with immersion of large structures or offshore lifting operations. Good understanding of stability calculations, mooring calculations and hydrodynamics. Practical problem-solving ability and confidence in technical decision-making. Clear communication skills in an international project environment. A team-focused mindset and willingness to take responsibility for your work. Willingness to work in Denmark and go offshore during immersion operations. Willingness to complete an STCW course if required. Fluent English.

Tasks & responsibilities As a senior piping designer, you are part of the team that focuses on maritime projects within the field of piping and mechanics. You will collaborate one on one with your team leader and your skills will take the projects to a higher level. You are responsible for the correct interpretation of the scope; You draw and design 3D piping models, P&ID’s and lay-out drawings; You participate in the concept development, basic and detail design; You compose the necessary tie in lists and isometrics. You cooperate on engineering projects but you are also involved the stages before and after. You guard the quality of these projects by making use of our MULTI methodology.
