Job description

MULTI.engineering is looking for an experienced Safety Engineer Shipbuilding to ensure the safety and compliance of advanced maritime systems.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Conduct risk analyses like HAZOP, FTA, and FMEA to identify hazards in systems;
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (IEC 61508, MIL-Std-882E);
  • Develop clear safety requirements and integrate them into system designs;
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure safety across all development phases;
  • Lead safety initiatives and mentor team members;
  • Document safety processes and maintain structured records;
  • Act as the key contact for safety-related matters internally and externally.

Profile

Technical knowledge & soft skills

  • You have a bachelor degree in a technical field;
  • You look back at minimally 5 years experience in system safety engineering;
  • You have experience in the Maritime and / or offshore industry;
  • You have knowledge of safety standards and methodologies (e.g. IEC 61508, MIL-Std-882E);
  • You have excellent knowledge of the English language (spoken and written). Knowledge of Dutch or German is a plus;
  • You have European citizenship.

During the lifecycle of a military ship, it is vital that all installations and systems are continuously up-and-running. It is important to prevent break-downs or temporary inactivity. This is why we are looking for a ILS Engineer (EU Citizenship) who can help to reduce these risks. What do we offer you as a ILS-Engineer? Luckily, we can count on you for the following: You meticulously scrutinize every ship system making tailored maintenance plans that drive peak performance. These preventive maintenance plans will ensure the efficiency of the military ships during the whole life-cycle. You'll learn how to analyze maritime risks ( RAM and FMECA calculations) to help avoid breakdowns during military operations, contributing to mission success. You will work with our suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that every part, spare and tool is in the right place at the right time. General ILS work will include analyzing maintenance plans/tasks, technical documentation (S1000D), supply support, including special tools & test equipment, and training.
