Job description

We are looking for a Hull Structural Designer to join long-term shipbuilding projects in Vlissingen. In this role, you will work on detailed hull and structural design, creating production-ready drawings that meet shipyard and classification requirements.

What You Will Do as a Hull Structural Designer

As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for translating structural concepts into practical, buildable solutions that support the construction of complex vessels.

Your Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed 3D hull and structural models
Produce accurate 2D production drawings, sections, and construction details
Translate structural designs into manufacturable solutions
Coordinate with structural engineers, outfitting teams, and production
Apply classification society rules and shipyard standards
Support production by resolving design and construction issues
Ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy across hull documentation

Profile

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an engineer who enjoys working close to production and wants long-term involvement in shipbuilding projects.

Your Profile

Proven experience in hull and structural design within shipbuilding
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or similar
Good understanding of class rules and shipyard practices
Experience in a maritime or shipbuilding engineering environment
Attention to detail and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Fluent in English
EU citizenship required due to project restrictions

MULTI.engineering is hiring a Mechanical Engineer – Naval Equipment for the duration of minimum 6 months to support our client in the area of Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Tasks & responsibilities As a Mechanical Engineer – Naval Equipment, you have the following responsibilities: You enjoy working on advanced mechanical systems and guiding younger colleagues; You will join a small, motivated team with a strong lead engineer and several juniors who will look to you for technical support; You design mechanical systems such as cranes, winches, life-raft mechanisms and other complex components; You build 3D models and detailed designs in Autodesk Inventor (your most important tool); You perform strength and structural analyses in ANSYS or FEMAP; You translate functional requirements into reliable, safe and well-engineered solutions.
