Job description

You will lead projects on-site, with direct influence on delivery performance, cost control and execution quality.

Your challenge
You take ownership of shipbuilding projects during the build and integration phase in an active yard environment. Success means maintaining control over planning, budget and quality while coordinating multiple interfaces across engineering, production and suppliers. You operate close to execution, ensuring decisions are translated into progress and deviations are managed with clear traceability.

What you’ll do

Develop and manage integrated project schedules, including milestones, sequencing and resource planning
Control project budgets and cost forecasts, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions
Coordinate procurement activities and manage suppliers against scope, timeline and quality requirements
Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, production and subcontractors on site
Monitor progress and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications, class and client requirements
Identify project risks and deviations, implementing mitigation actions with a clear audit trail
Report structured progress updates, risks and decisions to stakeholders and opdrachtgever

Profile

What you bring

Bachelor's/Master's in Shipbuilding, Maritime Engineering
Proven experience as Project Manager within shipbuilding or a comparable yard environment
Good control over planning, budget management, procurement and quality processes
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams during build/integration phases
Hands-on mindset and ability to operate effectively on the work floor
Good command of the English language
Experience with refit, conversion, or complex one-off vessel projects
Exposure to offshore or naval vessel projects

Design and deliver the structural engineering of the world’s most complex superyachts (50–140 m). Take technical ownership and lead engineers. What can we offer you as a Structural Engineer for superyachts? In return for your hard work, we offer you a € salary based on experience and education. If relocation is needed, we provide help to search for affordable accommodation. Compensation for commuting costs: (own car / public transport / bike) Fortunately, we can count on you for the following: You develop, together with your team of engineers, the primary structural concept and overall structural designs for fully custom luxury superyachts of 50 to 140 meters. You maintain a clear overview between high-level concepts and detailed aspects throughout the process. You create innovative solutions for integrating complex components and take responsibility for strength and stiffness calculations (both hand calculations and in collaboration with the FEM team). You use 3D CAD systems to accurately process and manage information and specifications. You represent your discipline and ensure seamless integration into the overall design, in close collaboration with other disciplines. You ensure quality control and timely delivery through clear communication and expertise, meeting planning, budget, quality, and specifications. You coordinate with shipyards, owner’s teams, classification societies, and suppliers. You assess the manufacturability of the design and, later in the process, monitor detailed engineering and hull construction. You act as a key point of reference for your Structural colleagues, using your expertise to coach and support others through advice and guidance.
