Jan De Nul’s ‘Isaac Newton’ can install up to 10,700 tons of cable and is thereto equipped with a 7,400 ton capacity turntable above deck and a 5,000 ton capacity turntable below deck. The ship is the world’s largest multipurpose cable laying vessel.

MULTI.engineering designed the cable neck, highway, chutes, and deck foundations. We produced the fabrication drawings and performed FEM calculations. Despite the challenging project, the client managed to meet the deadline with the help of the MULTI team's expertise and flexibility. When adjustments to the vessel were needed, Jan De Nul turned to us again for designing knowhow.

The exact scope of the project was difficult to determine in advance. MULTI.engineering’s expertise made it possible to gain a good insight into the actual scope, avoiding unnecessary activities. – Client
