What role has the branch in Komarno played and does it now play for MULTI.engineering?
In 2011, there was contact between Etienne, Lazlo and Norbert. I also joined the company around the same period. First under the name Polaris and in 2015 the name was changed to MULTI.engineering services Komarno. We mainly have customers from Slovakia and Hungary and now also from Austria and the Czech Republic. Last year we did more local projects because of covid, since this year more from Belgium and the Netherlands again, where we offer engineering support in the various projects.
How would you describe the first ten years here? How did it go?
In the beginning it was difficult but now it is going very well and getting better and better. You also get to know each other better.
What were the good and the less good moments? What were/are the biggest challenges?
Good moments: the fact that we are not only colleagues across countries but also friends.
A less good moment is of course the covid period. There was a home office, so we had less social contact with each other, a period to quickly forget and leave behind.
Very proud of what we have achieved here, 100% occupation of the local market, which means that many more beautiful projects will be coming our way.
How do you experience the collaboration, communication and connection with colleagues in other MULTI.engineering locations? Do you have a lot of contact with them?
Before covid there were more trips between Belgium and the Netherlands. Now more is done through Teams, which sometimes results in less connection/contact. It is better to see each other live. Especially if there is some distance between the offices.
I have daily contact with Dieter, Niko, Adrie, Siem-jan, but also a lot of contact with Sabine and Valerie.
How do you see the future for MULTI.engineering, and in particular for MULTI.engineering in Slovakia?
Growing, but not too much, we are now with 18 people, growing to 22 is enough to keep the family feeling. We are a fixed group, attached to each other and have been working together for years, so we have to make sure that the right person is hired who will fit into the group. And of course that we can realize many more beautiful projects together with that close-knit team.
